Refund Policy

Everything we make at Verzênay is baked, laminated, and finished by hand, in small batches, to be enjoyed fresh. Because our products are perishable food items, all sales are final. We do not accept returns, and we do not offer refunds or exchanges, except as required by applicable law or as described below.

Why all sales are final

For food safety reasons, once a product leaves our kitchen it cannot be restocked or resold. This applies to all items, including pastries, cakes, breads, bagels, chocolates, preserves, catering platters, and gift items.

If we made a mistake

If your order arrives with a wrong or missing item, or you do not receive an order we confirmed, please contact us at contact@verzenaychicago.com within 24 hours of pickup or delivery, with your order number and a photo where applicable. Where the error is ours, we may, at our sole discretion, offer a replacement, store credit, or refund. Remedies are assessed case by case and are not guaranteed.

Cancellations

Orders cannot be canceled once accepted. Custom cake, wedding, and catering orders are produced specifically for you; deposits and payments on these orders are non-refundable.

Pickup orders

Pickup orders must be collected during our posted business hours on the scheduled pickup date. Because our products are perishable, orders that are not collected as scheduled are not eligible for a refund, remake, or credit.

Local delivery

Local delivery is fulfilled by third-party delivery platforms. Issues arising during delivery (late arrival, damage in transit, delivery to the wrong address by the courier) are governed by the delivery platform's policies and should be reported directly through that platform.

Shipped orders

Where we ship products, we are not able to refund orders affected by carrier delays, an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout, refused or unclaimed deliveries, or packages left unattended after delivery.

We care that every order leaves you glad you chose us. If something is wrong, tell us — we read every message.
